Warren is survived by his wife Peggy, mother Myrtle Cardinell, Gouverneur, sons, Warren G. Cardinell II, DeKalb, Troy Cardinell, Canton, Holden Cardinell at home, daughter, Tasha Hamilton, Rensselaer Falls, brothers, Francis “Butch” (Christine) Cardinell, Rochester, Robert Cardinell Sr. and Edward (Zelphia) Cardinell, Gouverneur, sisters Betty (Jerry) Cox, Dianna (Paul) Shepardson, Rowena (Jerry) Cameron, Gouverneur, Brenda (Ray) Maher, PA, 5 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Beulah and Patricia Cardinell, and Roxanne Kirkpatrick. Warren was born February 23, 1954 in Ogdensburg, the son of Francis and Myrtle Hemingway Cardinell. He was a laborer for Laborers Local 322 in Massena. He married Peggy Brown on July 16, 1988 in Canton. Bim loved to hunt, fish, cook, garden, bowl, go camping, play cards, be outdoors, farming, playing softball and Karaoke. Sylvia is survived by her husband James, sons, Joseph (Jodie) Spadaccini, Canton, Tomme (Michelle) Spadaccini, Vernon, CT, brothers, Schuyler (Karen) Bush, Sterling (Dawn) Bush, Stewart (Doreen) Bush, all of Florida, grand children, Anthony, Shawn, Jason and Matthew Spadaccini, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased a sister, Sharon Robinson. Sylvia was born November 28, 1940 in Gouverneur, the daughter of Merrill and Lida M. Weaver Bush. She graduated from Hermon DeKalb Central School in 1958 and the Watertown Business School. She married James C. Spadaccini on May 14, 1960 at St. Henry’s Church, DeKalb Junction. She was a billing clerk at E.J. Noble Hospital, Gouverneur. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Richville, and enjoyed going for rides, and listening to country western music. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.

He was predeceased by his son William J. Walton III, brothers, Richard, Wallace and Wayne Walton. William was born March 18, 1939 in Richville, the son of William and Velma Phillips Walton Sr.. William graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1958; he was the first Electrical Apprentice in New York State. He worked at St. Joe for 20 years, then he drove tractor trailer for local companies. He was an independent driver until his retirement in the early 90’s. He enjoyed driving, hunting, fishing, camping, playing cards, party poker and was a skilled marksman. Stephen was born April 9, 1950 in Hermon, the son of Allen and Dorothy Halliday Luther. He graduated in 1968 from Knox Memorial School. On April 29, 1972 he and Vickie Roy were married at St. Henry’s Church. He retired from the U. S. Army in 1989. He was in the Army from 1969 until his retirement, he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (4), Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation (1st OLC), Army Commendation Medal, Air Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Unit Citation with Palm (1st OLC), Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3). Steve was a member of AMVETS Post 11, VFW Ogdensburg, and the American Legion. Stephen worked as a deliveryman for Rex Appliance in Watertown after his retirement from the Army. He enjoyed drag racing, and building motors in his garage. He loved spending time with his grandchildren; his family was the love of his life. Jean is survived by his son, Robert M. Evans, Gouverneur, daughters, Bonnie J. Knowlton, DeKalb Junction, Trudy M. (Peter) Meyn of Williamson, NY and Zephyr Hills, FL, Dixie ( Murray) Scott, Canton, Joadie (Jimmy) Goodison, Rochester, a sister, Susan Elizabeth Mashaw, Gouverneur, 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased a brother Robert Evans, and grandchildren, Karen and Kathy Meyn.
He was born in Sennett, New York, the son of Jean Paul and Susan Grant MacDougall Evans on April 5, 1920. He married Eva M. Mashaw, November 12, 1939 in Philadelphia, NY, she died on January 26, 2008. He was in the U. S. Army, there he earned the European – African – Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Jean was a maintenance supervisor at Kodak in Rochester for 12 years, he retired in 1982, previous to that he owned and operated a garbage pickup service, known as Mac Evans Trucking in Gouverneur from 1945- 1970.
Jean was a member of the Silas Wainwright American Legion Post in Gouverneur, the VFW in Gouverneur, and the DeKalb Junction United Methodist Church. He loved gardening (flowers and vegetables), wood working, music, making puzzles, bowling, softball, sports, camping, and his bible study was extremely important to him.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the DeKalb Junction United Methodist Church, Macomb Community Wesleyan Church or Kinney Nursing Home.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons Lyle P. Masters II, Old DeKalb, Brian J. Masters, Webster, and Perry T. Masters, Canton; daughters Linda (Edward) Newcombe, Rensselaer Falls, Diane (Thomas) Pike, Heuvelton, Terry (Ed) Emrich, TX, Sherry (Dean) Johnson, TX, and Cherrie Masters, TX; brother Ken Masters Jr; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Masters.

He was born in the Town of DeKalb, the child of Kenneth and Mabel Perry Masters on July 27, 1941. He married Nancy Poore, April 6, 1976 at their home in Depeyster. Lyle was a farmer and worked for the Town of Depeyster Highway Department.

He was a member of the Old DeKalb Methodist Church and Leroy Methodist Church. He loved to hunt, fish, dance and music.

He was predeceased by a son, Bernard Childs; a brother, Mertin Childs; and a sister, Laura Austin.

He was born in the Town of DeKalb, the child of Ralph and Beatrice Stone Childs. He was in the U.S. Army during WWII, he was award the Philippines Liberation Ribbon, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal. He married Alice C. O’Grady on January 21, 1961 in DeKalb Junction, Justice of the Peace Elmer Denesha, officiating, she died February 28, 2005. Stanley was a highway crewman for the Town of DeKalb, and prior to that was a mechanic of farm equipment for Art Robinson in Canton. He was a member of the VFW of Canton, and the Kendrew Methodist Church. He loved to garden, play cards and farming.

Brice Jr. (Debra), DeKalb Junction, Marsha (Floyd) Koerner, of Barker, Carol (Michael) Fenlong, Helen Woods, and Cynthia Morrow, all of DeKalb Junction, Jane (Michael) Costello, Richmond, VA, Emily (Thomas) Grant, Lisbon, Jeanette (Thomas) Brock, Jordan, Marilyn (Michael) Peabody, Hermon, 24 grandchildren, several great and step grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Jim was born November 12, 1918 in his family home on the Brice Road, until he moved to his current home in 1982, the son of William and Sarah Rowland Brice. He graduated from DeKalb Junction High School and the Hemphill Diesel Engineering School in NYC. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Rice on October 12, 1941, at the Norfolk Methodist Parsonage by Reverend Frank Brown, she died on August 10, 2004. He was a self employed dairy farmer until his retirement in 1982, he was also the Town of DeKalb Supervisor and Tax Assessor. He was a member of the Old DeKalb Methodist Church, Old DeKalb Grange, DeKalb Hermon Senior Citizen Club, Richville Masonic Lodge for 70 years, NYS Farm Bureau, a former member of the Hermon DeKalb Central School Board of Education. Nicholas Gardinier, 65, died on March 13th, at his home in Old DeKalb after a year long battle with esophageal cancer.

Nick was born in Mt.Kisco, NY to W.Ivan and Ethel K. Gardinier. He graduated from Lockport High School in 1964 and SUNY School of Forestry, Syracuse in 1969. After a brief teaching career, Nick moved to St Lawrence County in 1972. He married Bonnie Tyner July 16, 1976 and moved to their present home of 35 years in Dekalb. Nick worked as a general contractor who restored and built houses and buildings all over St. Lawrence County. Nick was known and respected by his friends and neighbors as a person of great integrity, deep generosity and committed civic participations. As a boy, Nick loved spending summers at the Gardinier family farm in Deposit, NY, fishing the Delaware River and hunting. He carried this love of the outdoors and rural living throughout his life. He also had a passion for the sciences, and spent much of his time reading about astrophysics. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, his daughter Audrey, his sister Phyllis Gardinier, of Ballston Spa, and Bonnie’s family in Indiana.

Because of his wish to have his remains given for anatomical research, there will be no calling hours, or funeral service. The family and friends of Nick will celebrate his life in a memorial service at a yet to be determined date. Murray is survived by his companion, Ethel Newcombe, a sister, Mary Jane Miller, Potsdam, four nieces and four nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Merrill Miller, and a sister June Miller. He was born August 13, 1921 at his home, in Richville, where he lived his whole life, the son of Robert and Pauline Millar Miller. He was a WWII Army Veteran having earned the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Medal and the Victory Medal. He was the highway superintendent for the Town of DeKalb, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the FA & M #633 Richville, he enjoyed tinkering, fishing, going to the diner for coffee, and going to auctions. Lillian is survived by her daughters, Donna Lillis, Liverpool, Carol and William O’Horo, Canton, Linda  and David Bishop, DeKalb Junction, Cindy and Rod Johnston, Arizona, a brother Earl Jeffers, Arizona, grandchildren, Michael and Michelle Lillis, Jeremy and Justin Bristol, Rebecca, Zachary, Emily and Sarah Bishop,great grand children, Kyle and Lily Bristol, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Fleming, a brother, Claude Jeffers, sisters, Keitha Hall, and Ilene Woods. Lillian was born on November 16, 1919 in the Town of Gouverneur, the daughter of Claude and Pearl Burnham Jeffers. She graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1936 as valedictorian of her class. She continued her education at Potsdam Normal School and graduated in 1939 with a Bachelors of Education degree. Lillian married Lloyd H. Fleming on August 28, 1943 at the DeKalb Junction Methodist Parsonage he died on December 8, 2002. Lillian was a teacher at Hermon DeKalb Central School from 1962 until her retirement in 1976. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Richville for over 65 years, a member of NYSUTA, and Retired NYSUTA. Lillian loved her cat Lucy, to read, do crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and needlework. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.

Ricky L. Hendricks, 53, of Russell, died, August 12, 2012, at Canton Potsdam Hospital.    Ricky is survived by his wife Judy, his daughter Nicole Hendricks, at home, brothers Bud and Vicky Hendricks, Richville, Roy Hendricks, Hermon and two nephews. He was born on September 5, 1958 in Gouverneur, the son of Percy and Bernice Kirkpatrick Hendricks. On July 23, 1988 he married Judy Church at the Edwards Methodist Church. Ricky was a laborer for the New York State Department of Transportation in Hailsboro. He loved to go hunting, fishing, working on cars and going to camp with friends. His wife Judy and daughter Nicole will have a gathering on September 8, 2012, 2 PM at the Hendricks’ family home, 669 CR 17, South Russell, for remembering, reminiscing and celebrating his life. Donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Elma is survived by her son, Dean and Linda Marshall, Heuvelton, daughter Carol and James Moore, Michigan, a brother, Stanley Holland, Lorraine, sisters June Gabriel, Rochester, and Dorothea Redmond, Arizona, grandchildren, Michael Marshall, Ogdensburg, Gregory Moore, Michigan, Matthew Moore, Wisconsin, Sean and Amalia Moore, Wisconsin, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Clyde, David and James Holland, sisters, Helen Weegar and Ruth Payne. Elma was born on July 14, 1927 in the Town of DeKalb, the daughter of David and Pearl Weatherup Holland. She graduated from Gouverneur High School and then attended A. Barton Hepburn Hospital School of Nursing, receiving her registered nursing degree. Elma married Dean Marshall on April 3, 1949 in the Town of DeKalb; he predeceased her in December 1977. Elma started her career in pediatric nursing and then became the head nurse in the operating room at A. Barton Hepburn Hospital, she worked for Dr. Whitmyer in Ogdensburg, and she then became the head nursing administrator at Cedar’s Nursing Home, her last position before retirement was a nurse for St. Lawrence County Public Health in Canton. She was a member of the Old DeKalb Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star in Heuvelton, and the DeKalb Historical Association. Elma enjoyed rug hooking and Facebook.

Vivian is survived by her son Holland “Hollie” and wife Julie Rubado, Hermon, sisters, Venita Crary and Vena Hubbard of North Carolina, grandchildren, Anthony and Denise Stedman Rubado, Germany, Eric Lashua, Hermon, great grandson Zech Fuller, Hermon, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Harold Rubado, a sister Violet Carpenter and a granddaughter Melissa “Missy” Jandreau. She was born on January 4, 1926 in Fine, the daughter of Holland and Hazel Kerr Hubbard. Vivian married John Rubado in1948; he died in December, 1994. She was a self employed live in aide. She was a member of the DeKalb Hermon Senior Citizen Club, and Church Of The Good Shepherd. Vivian loved doing crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting and going to church. Donald is survived by his wife, Barbara E., sons, William D. Alguire, DeKalb Junction, Brent J. (Erin) Alguire, Canton, a daughter Sherry J. (John) Burke of Harrisville, a brother, Kenneth (Lois) Alguire, DeKalb Junction, grandchildren, Emily (Derek) LaPoint, Russell, Ryan Hamilton (fiancé Ellie Zieser), Chatfield, MN, great granddaughter, Peyton LaPoint, Russell, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Harold, Maurice, Clarence and Lyle Alguire, sisters, Hazel LaRue, Helen Conger, Joyce Weaver and Mary Lou Alguire. He was born April 16, 1928 in the Town of DeKalb, the son of Harry and Annabelle Thompson Alguire. He married Barbara E. Jennings, October 26, 1947 at the Jennings family home with the Reverend E.J.W. Burston officiating. He and his wife bought the Jennings Family Farm which they farmed until he retired and then he was a custodian at Hermon DeKalb Central School. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and playing with his great granddaughter. He was a good person and loved being outdoors. Ashley and companion David Cole, Gouverneur, a son, Robert H. and wife, Laurie Tamblin Jr., Kent, Washington, a brother, Nelson Macrie, Trenton, NJ. , a sister, Eileen Newell, Mosheim, TN, grandchildren, Angela Tamblin, Justin and his wife Sally Tamblin, Christina and husband Tim Smith, Matthew and his wife Lindsay Gibson, Dustin Gibson and fiancée Tama Moore, great grandchildren, Seth M. Gibson, Liam N. Gibson, Elsie R. Gibson, Ayva L. Gibson, Alyssa L. Smith, Andrew N. Smith, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Macrie, and sisters, Pauline Ketts, and Doris Lenord. She was born February 22, 1924 in Hammonton, New Jersey, the daughter of Dominick and Grace Parker Macrie. Stella married Robert H. Tamblin on November 11, 1949 in Great Bend, New York; he died on October 25, 2003. She was a cook for St. Lawrence University from January 1969 – August 1986 when she retired. Stella was a member of the Gouverneur, DeKalb Hermon, Edwards, and Canton Senior Citizens Clubs, the United Church of Richville; she was the historian and a past president of the Richville Historical Association, a 32 year member of the Richville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and on the Richville Library Board. She loved to travel, play bingo, attend dinners, eat out, she was an avid reader, and was known for her apple cake and other desserts. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Richville Free Library, 87 Main St., Richville, NY 13681, or Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
